🟩What to Include
A personal profile describes:
- Your appearance (height, hair, eyes, etc.)
- Your personality (friendly, shy, patient, etc.)
- Your likes, dislikes, hobbies, and abilities
🟩Use Adjectives
Describe yourself using adjectives with be, have/has got, or a/an + noun.
- With be: I am tall. / She is friendly.
- Adjective + noun (with be): I’m a fast runner. / He’s a good cook.
- Appearance (with have/has got): I’ve got long hair. / She has green eyes. / I don’t have short hair.
🟩Adverbs of Degree
Make your descriptions stronger or softer:
- I am very tall.
- I’m quite friendly.
- I’m a bit shy.
- I’m not very sporty.
🟩Countable & Uncountable Nouns
- Countable (use a/an for singular): I’m a good cook. / I have brown eyes.
- Uncountable (no a/an): I have long hair. (Not: *a hair)
🟩Other Physical Features
- I have a moustache.
- I’ve got freckles.
- I have a beard.
- Use wear for things not part of your body: I wear glasses. / She wears braces.
🟩Your Personality
- General traits (use be): I am shy. / He is kind.
- Situational changes (use get + adjective):
I get impatient when people are late.
I get shy when I’m with strangers.
🟩Likes and Dislikes
Use these verbs + noun or -ing:
- I like football. / I like reading.
- I don’t like horror films. / I hate running.
- I love painting.
- Also use enjoy + -ing: I enjoy writing stories. / I don’t enjoy cooking.
🟩Favourite Things
- My favourite subject is history.
- My favourite sport is volleyball.
- My favourite kind of music is hip-hop.
- My favourite kind of film is comedy.
🟩Abilities
- Use can/can’t: I can play the piano. / I can’t cook.
- Use good at + noun/-ing: I’m good at sports. / I’m not good at painting.
- Add adverbs of manner: I can dance very well. / I can’t sing very well.
🟩Write 3 Paragraphs
- Paragraph 1 – Appearance: Describe your height, build, hair, eyes, and other features.
- Paragraph 2 – Personality: Explain your character and how you behave in different situations.
- Paragraph 3 – Hobbies & Abilities: Talk about what you like/dislike, your favourite things, and what you can/can’t do.
